- I began guiding in the mountains in the early 1990's and have focused on Alaska and Denali since 1992. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been given the opportunity to run the guide service that taught me so much about guiding and about sharing wild places with other climbers. Mountain Trip has always felt like family to me and as we grow, I want to keep that feeling alive. Most days are spent in the house I built in 2006, in the high alpine valley hamlet of Ophir, Colorado. My wife Lisa and two boys, Logan and Dalton, are the best parts of each day and we spend countless hours exploring our mountainous area. It feels like a long time ago that I earned my B.S. from Monmouth College in West Long Branch, New Jersey, located some 50 miles from my boyhood home of Pennington, NJ. My degrees in History and Anthropology led me to the mountains of South America and that momentum then led me north to Alaska. Life and work continue to be a lot of fun and they both get better each day.

To all of the team, now that you're safely back down, and have probably all gone separate ways, a big well done on your achievement. You will have some fantastic unique memories for the rest of your lives. Chris and Miles, we can't wait to have you back now and are so very proud of you. Get back to the UK as soon as you can- we'll be waiting eagerly at the airport.
